Top fathom protein skimmers. High
quality venutri protein skimmers available in standers and custom sizes
for any size aquarium. Adjustable standpipe overflow to eliminate
changes in column height and adjustable venturi air intake.
Top Fathom skimmers are the most efficient protein
skimmers available. A properly sized pump is required to optimize
this skimmer. The larger the pump
the more efficient the skimmer. Inlets
may be connected to separate pumps or attached to existing filter
pumps with adequate GPH and PRESSURE. (3 psi or greater, which is
about 7 feet of head pressure) Taller skimmers will require more
pressure.
To find the approximate psi for a given flow (gph)
with a pump, find the head pressure at the desired flow rate and
divide it by 2.31. Compare this pressure (psi) and flow to the
charts below.
Example: A pump is rated at 350 gph at 10 ft of
head. 10/2.31 = 4.3 psi. This pump runs 350 gph at approximately 4.3
psi. This pump will work with the TF200A.
Note: Most power heads do not
have enough head pressure to run
Top Fathom skimmers. However
some submersible pumps and many
external pumps do.
